The Fides School of Theology and Evangelization, Awka, recently held a public lecture and Matriculation Ceremony. The event which took place on November 11, 2023, focused on the theme, “New Evangelization in Education in Nigeria”.
As part of the ceremony, seven new students were matriculated and several graduates were also commissioned.
The day began with a Holy Mass celebrated at St Patrick’s Cathedral, Awka by His Lordship, Most. Rev. Paulinus C. Ezeokafor, the Catholic Bishop of Awka Diocese, Anambra State.
During the Mass, the Bishop delivered a homily, urging the congregation to embody true evangelization, particularly in urban areas. He emphasized the uncertainty of the future and the importance of spreading the message of faith in such times.
Following the Mass, the newly commissioned evangelizers were addressed by the Director of the School, Rev. Fr. Celestine Muonwe, who expressed his gratitude to them for their commitment to the formation process and encouraged them to go forth with the power of the Holy Spirit to carry out the work of evangelization.
The event marked an important milestone for the Fides School of Theology and Evangelization, as it welcomed new students and celebrated the achievements of graduates. It also provided an opportunity for reflection and inspiration on the topic of evangelization in the context of education in Nigeria.
